I met a man named Robin on the train today and he shared quite an interesting testimony. He was a Christian but never really took it seriously. He was into a lot of drugs and one time he overdosed on heroine. all drugged up, he crawled to his church, trying to get inside but the door was closed. at this moment he called out to God and prayed a pleading prayer. and at that moment he felt the drugs loosing their effect and became sober.
Later on he passed by someone who offered him a bible. he opened it in hope that God would show him something. he opened the bible to a random page and pointed his finger down onto a passage. it was 1 Peter 3:10-12:
For "He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. for the eyes for the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
in reading this, he threw the bible to the ground and continued on his way. but then he ran into another man who again offered him a bible.
it was these moments that he knew that God was there trying to lead him to the path of righteousness. it was Robin's testimony that has made me realize that God reaches people through many events and many servants of God. it gives me hope that even though my efforts alone don't change someones life, at least my efforts and start to lead them towards the right direction. i can only pray and trust that God will send more of his servants in the path of the lost that they may eventually find their way little by little, bit by bit.
Robin does not yet believe in the divinity and importance of Jesus Christ, so i ask that we pray for him so that he may find the way, the truth and the light.
