of course we, as Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and God in human form but not everyone believes that. Muslims believe that He was only a prophet. Jews don't believe he was the Messiah and are still waiting for Him to come. so i believe this is a very important question that needs to be asked and i will be searching for the answer. Hold tight until i find it!
also feel free to comment to point me towards the right direction, or even write the answer below!
Answer:
John 9:1-41 (Jesus claims He's the Son of God)
here, Jesus gives a blind man his sight so that the works of God may be revealed through the blind man. Jesus then reveals who He is in verse 35-38:
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found Him said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?" He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you."
Matthew 16:13-18
Jesus asks Simon Peter, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answers and says: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus says to Peter: "Blessed are you , Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."
I'm sure that most, if not all of us have experienced a situation where we've had to defend our faith. maybe it was defending against someone of another religion or maybe against a simple skeptic atheist. both are very challenging, especially when that person is so set in their ways that they aren't willing to open their minds to anything other than what they grew up with. but were you, as a Christian, able to give them an answer for the hope that is in you? were you able to give that defense and prove what you believe to be true?
1 peter 3:15 NKJV says: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear"
Christians today are getting lazy. we build up our faith to a point and then go on with life as normal, feeling satisfied where we stand knowing that we're going to heaven. but are we really satisfied? have all our questions been answered? have we asked ourselves, "is Jesus really God?" or "is the Bible reliable?". questions like these are usually avoided because we don't want to compromise our faith or our churches are not answering them. we should not be afraid of asking these questions and we should educate ourselves in order to answer them. by doing so, we will not only have an answer for skeptics, but we will gain a more GENUINE faith, knowing that there is a REASON for everything we believe as Christians.
if people aren't getting answers in the church then they're going to look somewhere else!
in John 14:6 Jesus declared him as "the way, the truth, and the life". indeed, Jesus is the answer to life's questions.
So, i am starting a new label called "Apologetics" where we will ask our pressing questions and then search for the answer. as i said before, don't be afraid of asking questions, we need to equip ourselves!
